Adoption East Midlands launched in 2019 as a collaborative venture between Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire councils to provide a regional adoption service. Adoption East Midlands provides all aspects of adoption recruitment, assessment, family finding, and the coordination of adoption support services. We are a successful child-focused service, making a real difference to the lives of children and adoptive families.

Adoption Social Worker

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Social Work England registered Social Worker. You will be joining an established team of Social Workers within the Recruitment, Assessment and Placement Team. We cover four Local Authorities these include Nottinghamshire, Nottingham City, Derby City and Derbyshire who specialise in the assessment and preparation of prospective adoptive parents. You will need to have worked with vulnerable children and be aware of their needs for permanency, have at least 3 years post qualifying experience plus excellent interpersonal and assessment skills.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Regional Adoption Agency, Adoption East Midlands, and to make a positive contribution to supporting children and young people and their families prior to and following adoption order. Adoption Support Social Worker

We are also seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Social Work England registered Social Worker to join our dynamic, established team of social workers within the Adoption Support Service based across Adoption East Midlands. Our Adoption Support Service aims to engage proactively with members of the adoption community to ensure we meet the needs of those accessing our services. As a worker you will be instrumental in supporting families and where needed, carrying out holistic assessments in discussion with professionals to identify their needs to determine the most appropriate plan of support, alongside holding cases where direct pieces of work are carried out with children/adoptive parents. Alongside these support needs, you would also be involved in developing and supporting our programme of universal services which include information and resource sharing, co-delivering peer support opportunities and learning events.

Adoption panel membership

We don't have any vacancies for panel members at this time however, we are driven to increase the diversity of our panels in respect of having a better mix of panel members from various ethnic origins. We welcome expressions of interest if you feel you can add value to our panels in this respect. You must also have recent relevant adoption experience.
