Important information regarding AEM Adoption Support services

We wanted to let you know that AEM Adoption Support are changing the way in which we deliver support services to adoptive families within the Region. Here are the details of our new Pathway to Support [PDF] for your information which introduces our new graduated response service.
Since becoming a Regional Adoption Agency in 2019, we have been working to bring four Local Authority Adoption Support Teams into one regional team and working hard to ensure we offer an equitable service across the region for all. It is also a priority for us to provide an easily accessible service that supports the needs of as many adoptive families within our region as possible whilst recognising that we are a relatively small team.
Over the last two years we have listened to feedback from the families with whom we have worked and have consulted via Adopter Voice to help us better understand the need that is there and what adoptive families would like to access in terms of support. This feedback has provided the background for our Pathway to Support and will continue to shape our support offer for pre-order families as well as post-order going forward.
As we move towards this new approach which will become fully effective by the 3rd May, we continue to recognise the necessary and essential role that adoption support plays for all adoptive families; an understanding that will continue to shape our whole service from recruitment of adopters, through matching and placement and eventually into post-order support for as long as it is needed. Hopefully the document referenced above will provide any further detail you may require in relation to our Pathway to Support for post-order services, and we will share further information over the coming weeks.
Your continued support and feedback are very much welcomed therefore we have also planned two meetings, taking place in April, hosted by Adopter Voice. This will be an opportunity for adopters to come along, share their views on the new Support Pathway and ask any questions.
